The Red Hot Chilli Pipers Spices Things Up at the CCPA on Fri., May 3, 8:00 PM

CERRITOS, CA – A blazing Rock band and show so hot, it carries its own health warning! Things are sizzling at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) when The Red Hot Chilli Pipers comes to town on Friday, May 3 at 8:00 PM. Ticket prices start at just $39.

Bagpipes with attitude. Drums with a Scottish accent. Since the nine-piece ensemble clinched the top prize on the United Kingdom’s televised talent show When Will I Be Famous in 2007, THE RED HOT CHILLI PIPERS has been turning up the heat across the globe. Rocking stages from New York to Beijing to Melbourne and everywhere in between, the group of pipers, guitarists, keyboards, and drummers has earned acclaim for its trademark sound – a unique fusion of traditional pipe tunes (The Flowers of Scotland, The Hills of Argyll, Amazing Grace) and contemporary anthems (Queen’s We Will Rock You, Coldplay’s Clocks, Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars, AC/DC’s Thunderstruck).

Called “merry funksters” by The Seattle Times, the band collectively boasts four music degrees from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and all the pipers and drummers have played at the top level in bagpiping. The group’s first album, Bagrock to the Masses, reached Gold status, and its third album Blast Live was crowned triple Platinum.
