It’s Magic! Returns to Cast Its Spell Over the CCPA on Sat., March 16, 8:00 PM
CERRITOS, CA – The award-winning It’s Magic! showcase enthralls and entrances fans at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Saturday, March 16, 8:00 PM. It’s “the liveliest lineup of magic acts this side of Las Vegas!” hailed the Los Angeles Times. Tickets start at $50.
The longest-running magic production in the country, IT’S MAGIC! brings to the stage the biggest stars in magic and variety. With a cast of award-winning performers from around the world – including Hollywood’s Magic Castle and Las Vegas – the extravaganza leaves audiences speechless and spellbound with sleight-of-hand illusions, stage tricks, and comedy and variety acts. The CCPA lineup features master magicians Jason Bishop and Company, Juliana Chen, Ron Saylor, Rudy Coby, and Dana Daniels.
From his astounding “Cage Levitation” and “Walking Through a Brick Wall” tricks to his cutting-edge “Teleportation” and “Plasma” illusions, JASON BISHOP has awed and shocked fans and critics worldwide. The New York Times raved, “There’s real elegance and even wit in the precision of his gestures, the agility of each finger.” Bishop has starred in the Off-Broadway shows Jason Bishop – Straight Up Magic and Jason Bishop – Believe in Magic. He has been featured on NBC’s Today Show, CW Network’s Masters of Illusion, Canada’s popular Breakfast Television Toronto, and Europe’s legendary Le Plus Grand Cabaret Du Monde.
JULIANA CHEN clinched the All-China Best Magician competition in 1986 and went on to become the first magician of Chinese heritage to win the world championship at the World Congress of Magicians in Germany, known as the Olympics of magic, in 1997. Chen was crowned 1992’s “Stage Magician of the Year” in Salt Lake City. She has appeared on the ABC show Champions of Magic.
Award-winning magician RON SAYLOR has dazzled and astounded audiences big and small, performing on the Emmy Awards, at the National Football Championships, and at Las Vegas casinos and The Magic Castle in Hollywood. A magic consultant for the 2017 feature film Sleight, Saylor is the official magician of The Breeders’ Cup and the creator and producer of the Celebrities of Magic series.
Named “Magician of the Year” by the New York Society of American Magicians when he was 12 years old, RUDY COBY earned the title again the following year. Coby has performed all over the world, including New York, Hollywood, Paris, Tokyo, Germany, London, Holland, and Hong Kong. He has his own televised special, Rudy Coby: Coolest Magician on Planet Earth, on Fox.
DANA DANIELS “is rapid-fire, inventive and very funny,” hailed the Los Angeles Times. The Orange County Register concurred, calling him a “fresh, magnetic talent.” The funnyman-magician extraordinaire and Luigi the “Psychic Parrot” have been performing off-the-wall magic blended with rapid-fire comedy at venues all over, including The Improv, Wizards, and the Magic Castle. Daniels has also appeared in Evening at The Improv, The Golden Girls, and News Radio.
