CCPA Welcomes to the Stage The Jukebox Stars of Doo-Wop and Rock Featuring Jay and The Americans, The Safaris Featuring Jimmy Stephens, The Crystals, and The Diamonds With Special Guest Comedian John Wing on Sun., March 10, 3:00 PM

CERRITOS, CA – Prepare to be dazzled in this afternoon of nonstop hits from THE JUKEBOX STARS OF DOO-WOP AND ROCK at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Sunday, March 10, 3:00 PM. Tickets start at $45.

Started by four teenage friends in a Brooklyn basement more than 40 years ago, JAY AND THE AMERICANS emerged with the breakout She Cried, which landed the group on the Billboard charts. The band maintained its steady presence on the Top 10 with Cara Mia, Only in America, Come a Little Bit Closer, and This Magic Moment. In 2002, Jay and The Americans was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. The group has performed with legends Roy Orbison, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones.

The Pop/Doo-Wop group THE SAFARIS FEATURING JIMMY STEPHENS delighted music fans with the 1960 hit Image of a Girl, which peaked in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

One of the most successful female groups of the 1960s, THE CRYSTALS charmed audiences and critics with the timeless jewels Da Doo Ron Ron, Then He Kissed Me, and the band’s No. 1 single He’s a Rebel. The ensemble helped redefine the girl-group style with raw songs like He Hit Me (And It Felt Like a Kiss), which exposed domestic violence; and Uptown, about a man who finds strength and pride when he visits his love who lives uptown.

Starting with its instant mega hit Why Do Fools Fall in Love, THE DIAMONDS has continued to confirm its timelessness with the Billboard-charting singles Church Bells May Ring, Little Darlin’, and The Stroll. The Canadian quartet, one of the leading groups of the ’50s era, was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004. Today, the band adds to its growing fan base with tours in Brazil, Ireland, England, Japan, and Chile.

America’s Got Talent finalist and comedian JOHN WING hosts with The American Gold Band.
