CCPA Presents Richard Marx Solo and KT Tunstall on Sun., November 12, 7:00 PM

CERRITOS, CA – Get ready for an exciting night of hits from Grammy nominees Richard Marx and KT Tunstall when the pair hits the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Sunday, November 12, 7:00 PM. Tickets start at $49. Tunstall opens the Director’s Pick show.

Crooner RICHARD MARX has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, starting with his self-titled debut, featuring the Top 5 singles Hold on to the Nights and the Grammy-nominated Don’t Mean Nothing, which scored him a Grammy nod for “Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.” The Los Angeles Times hailed, “Marx has a smooth set of pipes, a great gift for penning catchy song hooks, and a skillful, workmanlike approach to pleasing the fans.”

Those attributes helped Marx garner a 2004 “Song of the Year” Grammy for co-authoring Luther Vandross’ Dance With My Father. He earned quadruple-Platinum distinction with the No. One songs Satisfied and Right Here Waiting and made history as the only male artist whose first seven singles reached the Top Five on the Billboard charts.

On Marx’s most recent album, Songwriter, he “demonstrates that he still can pen memorable songs that span multiple genres,” noted the Observer Reporter.

Marx has worked with numerous artists in the industry, including Barbra Streisand, Keith Urban, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion, Chicago, Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, NSYNC, Michael Bolton, and Josh Groban.

Opening the evening’s show is KT TUNSTALL, who burst onto the music scene with her 2004 multi-Platinum debut, Eye to the Telescope, which spawned the global award-winning hits Suddenly I See and Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, which Rolling Stone magazine deemed as “infectious, foot-stomping.” The publication called her album Kin a “power-Pop gem.”

The Grammy-nominated Scottish songstress’ other albums include Wax and Nut.

Nut features the singles Canyons, Private Eyes, and Three and is produced by Martin Terefe, who co-wrote Tunstall’s 2005 global hit Other Side of the World.
