CCPA Presents Grammy Winner Ashanti With Special Guest Ginuwine on Fri., March 8, 8:00 PM

CERRITOS, CA – It’s a rousing night of R&B when Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Ashanti graces the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Friday, March 8, 8:00 PM. She is joined by Grammy-nominated musician Ginuwine. Tickets start at $59.

ASHANTI burst onto the music scene with her 2002 smash hit, the self-titled debut album Ashanti, which soared to the No. One spot on both the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts. The record earned a Grammy for “Best Contemporary R&B Album.” Her hit song Foolish scored the top spot on six Billboard charts simultaneously, including Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, The Billboard 200, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks, Hot 100 Airplay, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and Hot 100 charts.

Her follow-up release, Chapter II, debuted in the No. One slot for two consecutive weeks on the Billboard Album Chart and spawned two Top 10 singles. Ashanti’s other honors include two American Music Awards, the Soul Train Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year Award, Soul Train Awards, a MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Award, and a Lady of Soul Award. The performer was nominated for an MTV movie award and a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Image Award for her role in the acclaimed drama Coach Carter.

Singer-songwriter GINUWINE made waves on the R&B scene with his debut album Ginuwine… the Bachelor, showcasing the single Pony, which became a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The dancer-actor followed up with 100% Ginuwine, which spawned the No. Two R&B hit So Anxious. The album went Platinum and won the 2000 Soul Train Award for “Best R&B/Soul Album,” cementing Ginuwine’s status as one of the biggest R&B acts of the era. The Life album also reached Platinum heights and featured the ballad Differences and There It Is, which became Ginuwine’s biggest Pop hit. Three Kings garnered a Grammy nod for “Best R&B Album.”
